Hi everyone!
I would like to know what do I need to do to participate in my first Time trial?
I own an old Shogun Kaze "Funny bike" and don't have any extra thousands to purchase a new state of the art rig

1) do i need to join an association first?
2) can i just sign up on race day?
3) What class should i enter with my vintage bike?
any info would be great,
Thank you

Joe-
First off, I love those old Shoguns. They were sooooo cool back in the day. And one certainly does not need a start of the art bike to go out, push yourself, and have some fun. So have at it!!!
Your questions:
1) Depending on which TT you do, you will likely need a 1-day license, which is available on site. Of course you will have the requisite waivers to will out etc.
2) You can sign up on race day. The exception being Fiesta Island in San Diego. You'll need to pre-reg for that one.
3) Depending on the venue, you will most likely be a Category 5 rider (beginner) or you can race an age category if you're 30 or older.
Go out there and give 'em hell. Have fun!

I have a friend that is training for a Triathlon and I was going to join him with the cycling and swimming (cant run hurts knees to much)to prepare for my time trial.
is there a specific book or website with Time trial specific drills , workouts and bike setup?
